On July 16, the excavator was delivered. Happy birthday to Cody! We were so excited to get going. It seemed like it took forever to get to this point. The excavators spent an hour or so clearing out trees and Cody spent hours removing the fence so they could get that huge thing through to the back.
There was a tall tree that our next door neighbors wanted removed and so we knew
it would need to come down at some point.
Well the excavators needed it down sooner than we thought and we knew Jeff (a neighbor who had previously offered to help with it) had a busy week so we didn't want to bug him. Cody was outside telling Marty (our neighbor who lives in the house shown) that we may need to do it now and he didn't hesitate to help. He got his chainsaw and was on the roof before we knew it. And within 10 minutes, Jeff was there with his chainsaw in hand. I was blown away by the fact that we didn't even ask. They just helped without question. And when I say helped, I actually mean did all of it. Marty and Jeff cut while Cody directed and hauled branches.
I was proud of Dallas. He pitched in and worked to get the job done. We put all the branches cut and on the street. I posted them on KSL for free and had them all gone within 24 hours.
Other neighbors started pitching in and helping as well. You can always count on Adrianne to work.McKae is a workhorse like her mom.
These guys enjoyed the show from the sidelines. And by nightfall, the parking strip was full of neighbors watching the process. It was a neat feeling to have all the neighbors feeling all the excitement along with us. We were reminded why we want to stay in this neighborhood.
