Another hoop to jump through

We had to get a special variance to add on because our existing house was non-corming. The original house was built 6 feet away from the property line on the north side and 8 feet on the south side. The current code is for a combined total of 20 feet away from the property line, minimum of 8 on each side. So, we had to pay $250, post this sign in our front window for the 10 days prior to the hearing date and they sent a letter to about 50 surrounding homes to inform them of our project. No one showed up from the neighborhood to complain and we had 3 great neighbors come to support. (Jeff and Kellie Rindlisbacher and Becca Westenskow)
It was pretty easy and felt like we could check one more thing off the long list of things to do!
